It is the story of how SLC, partner organizations, governments, and project participants are working every day to fight poverty, putting women and girls at the center. How we and our partners are helping to save lives and promoting social justice, especially in Gorkha, Kaski, Chitwan, and Dhading.
This data-driven story allows us to listen. The numbers, stories, and especially the voices of communities we strive to support collectively show us what we are doing right and where we need to improve. Listening tells us how we contributed to meaningful change.
Since 2007 we have been working as a leading charity organization in Nepal has impressive impacts including:
Crisis Response
The number of individuals helped resources distributed (such as food, clothing, and educational materials), and support provided to local governments.
Education initiatives
Increased enrollment rates, improved literacy levels, provision of school supplies, and scholarship programs have enabled students to pursue further education.
Health and Wellbeing
Outline initiatives focused on health and wellness. Health workshops were held, vaccinations administered, mental health support services provided, and improvements in community health metrics.
Sports
SLC funds youth sports programs, providing access to coaching, sports materials, and facilities for underprivileged children. Leads to increased participation in sports, helping for break down barriers, and promoting emerging players and their skills.
Agriculture
Loktantrik Club has a significant impact on agriculture, particularly in regions like Nepal where agriculture is a fundamental part of the economy and livelihoods. Here are some key impacts that a charity club can achieve in this sector. Providing training programs for farmers on best practices, sustainable farming techniques, and modern agricultural methods can improve yields and income. Workshops and seminars can help disseminate knowledge about crop rotation, pest management, and organic farming.
Our main goal is to facilitate access to essential resources such as quality seeds, fertilizers, tools, and irrigation systems. We assist farmers in gaining access to larger markets. This may involve helping them understand market trends, connecting them with buyers, and advocating for fair prices.
Gender Equality
Gender equality is SLC’s central organizing principle. We pay particular attention to how our programming, advocacy, and partnerships include, enable, and impact women and girls.
SLC gender equality work focuses on improving the rights of women, adolescent girls, and marginalized groups in three sub-programs:
- Eliminating gender-based violence
- Increasing women’s and girls’ voice and leadership
- Equal access to quality education
